Terms and Conditions

Last updated: April 24, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the DepthLoop app available through the Canva Apps Marketplace ("the App"), operated by DepthLoop ("we", "us", or "our").

By installing or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

Your use of the App is also subject to:

2. Description of the App

DepthLoop is a 3D animated video creation tool embedded in the Canva editor. It allows you to:

  • Upload photos and arrange them in animated 3D card formations
  • Customize motion styles, card frames, animation parameters, and background color
  • Export the result as an MP4 video and insert it directly into your Canva design

3. Eligibility

To use the App you must:

  • Have a valid, active Canva account
  • Be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum digital consent age in your jurisdiction)
  • Have the legal authority to agree to these Terms on your own behalf or on behalf of an organization

4. Free Service

DepthLoop is available at no cost. All exports are unlimited and free — no credits, subscription, or payment information is required. Rendering is performed entirely within your browser; your source photos are never sent to DepthLoop's servers. Once rendered, the finished MP4 video is briefly uploaded to DepthLoop's temporary storage as a required intermediary step for delivery to your Canva design (see Section 6.2), then automatically deleted.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Upload photos or create videos that depict illegal content, including but not limited to child sexual abuse material, content that incites violence, or content that violates intellectual property rights
  • Upload photos of individuals without their consent where such consent is legally required
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the App
  • Use the App to generate content intended to deceive, defraud, or harass others
  • Attempt to circumvent the credit system, including by creating multiple accounts to obtain additional free credits
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the App in ways not intended by its design
  • Overload, disrupt, or degrade the performance of our infrastructure

6. Your Content

6.1 Ownership

You retain full ownership of the photos you upload and the videos you export. We claim no intellectual property rights over your content.

6.2 License to Process

Your source photos are never transmitted to DepthLoop's servers. Once rendering is complete in your browser, the finished MP4 video is uploaded to DepthLoop's temporary storage solely to facilitate delivery to Canva — Canva's API requires a publicly accessible URL and cannot accept a file directly from browser memory. By using the App, you grant DepthLoop a limited, transient license to store the rendered video for the sole purpose of this delivery step. The file is automatically deleted after Canva retrieves it and is not used for any other purpose.

6.3 Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for ensuring that:

  • You own or have the right to use all photos you upload
  • Your content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
  • Your use of the exported video complies with applicable laws and platform policies

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its interface, motion styles, underlying code, and branding, is owned by DepthLoop and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers any ownership of our intellectual property to you.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the App itself.

8. Availability and Service Levels

We aim to keep the App available and functional at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The App may be unavailable due to:

  • Scheduled maintenance
  • Unexpected outages
  • Canva platform issues beyond our control

Video rendering runs entirely in your browser and is not affected by DepthLoop server availability. However, the final delivery step — uploading the rendered video to temporary storage for Canva to retrieve — does require a brief connection to DepthLoop's servers. If our servers are unavailable, the export may fail at this final step. We will endeavor to notify users of planned maintenance where feasible. We are not liable for losses caused by service unavailability.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The App will meet your specific requirements
  • Exports will always complete successfully within a given time frame
  • The App will be error-free or uninterrupted

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, DepthLoop shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of data or content
  • Loss of profits or revenue
  • Costs of substitute services

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $50, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless DepthLoop and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your content, including any claim that your photos infringe a third party's rights
  • Your use of the App in violation of any applicable law

12. Termination

12.1 By You

You may stop using the App at any time.

12.2 By Us

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to our systems or other users.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Sections 6, 7, 10, 11, and 14 of these Terms survive termination.

13. Changes to the App and Terms

We may update, modify, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document.

For material changes, we will provide notice through the App or via the Canva Apps Marketplace listing at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the App after that date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which DepthLoop is established, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to binding arbitration or the courts of competent jurisdiction in that jurisdiction, as permitted by applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
